Frequently Asked Questions
When and where do you practice?
We practice Monday-Friday 5 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. year-round on the Susquehanna River. The team carpools from Binghamton University to our boathouse in Owego every morning, always making it back in time for 8 a.m. classes.
Do you compete in regattas?
Yes, we compete year-round. During our fall season, we compete in many head races, such as Head of the Genesee and Head of the Fish. During the spring, you can find us at Saratoga Springs sprinting in the NYS Collegiate Championships.
Do you have coaches?
Yes, we have four coaches; two for the novice squads and two for the varsity squads. They not only help us become stronger rowers, but they also help keep us safe on the water.
How do I join?
You can join by coming to our General Interest Meetings (GIMs), which we hold at the beginning of the fall semester and the beginning of the spring semester - for more details on our GIM dates, take a look at our Regattas/Events page or visit our Instagram.
Did you miss the GIMs? No worries! Just contact us at binghamtonrowingpubrelations@gmail.com and we will happily get you on the right track.
